Julian has a strong belief in the power of community. From age 6-20 he played football from community to collegiate level and was a three sport athlete in high school, so he has seen firsthand the power of unity. His goal is to help the youth learn that persistence and ingenuity are key factors in succeeding in life. Being an advocate for making a difference in community policing, he is using his skills to empower and guide. Truly believing that change can occur pushes him to continue despite any obstacles that may come in his path.
Caprice O'Bryant is the owner and head trainer of Excuse Free Fitness, Inc., a personal and group training fitness studio located in Homewood, IL. You've seen her fearless testimony on WCIU'S You & Me This morning, Abc's Windy City Live and nationally syndicated daytime show The Real.

She is truly a walking miracle, and despite all obstacles she continues to persevere. "I believe I can still win with the hand I was dealt," is how Caprice motivates herself to put in her best, and the mentality she possesses in her day to day operations. It is also the mindset she encourages every member of Excuse Free Fitness, and why so many people are jumping on #teamnoexcuses.
Julian & Caprice are different in many ways but when it comes down to support they are always there for each other. Also, getting on each others nerve is like a full time job too.

The Dodd Twins
This month's twinK Spotlight features The Dodd Twins, Jamilah Michelle and Johari Noelle, born and raised in Chicago, IL. Their birth was pretty miraculous, in fact they should not even be alive. The twins were born conjoined at the abdomen, the 9th case of conjoined twins at the University of Chicago in 1995. Their mother developed an infection from her water breaking early along with a fever and the doctors had to do an emergency C-section to deliver the twins. Thankfully the surgery to separate the twins was successful. Johari was born on life support and Jamilah was born fighting a little harder! God brought them through for a reason. They grew up working as interns for True Star Magazine. The twins have also participated in various journalism programs, cheer leading and various activities. While attending Homewood Flossmoor high school they discovered their passion, Johari with singing and Jamilah with dance.
In 2013, they enrolled at Northern Illinois University and studied Communication while continuing to develop their passion. In 2015, Johari got an awesome opportunity to work with Singer Kelly Rowland from Destiny's Child and Choreographer/Director, Frank Gatson on a new show Chasing Destiny, which provided a platform for aspiring singers to land a spot in the next girls group. Although Johari did not win a spot in the group she worked hard and enjoyed her time in LA. After the show, Johari returned to Chicago and got involved with the community speaking to young girls about chasing their dreams. She is currently back in school to finish her degree and she continues to pursue music. Jamilah also continues to pursue her degree with a minor in dance. She has choreographed dances for the NIU Dance Department Showcase and has plans to continue studying with Alvin Ailey in N.Y. or Debbie Allen Dance Academy in L.A. Their story is a constant reminder that God never fails. They are definitely twins you should know!
This months twinK Spotlight features Twin brothers and Medical Doctors Jamil Abdur-Rahman (a.k.a Dr. J) and Idries Abdur-Rahman (a.k.a. Dr.I). The twins are both board certified Obstetrician/Gynecologists from the Chicagoland area. Dr. J is also the Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Waukegan’s Vista East Medical Center. Using guest television appearances and the platforms of the written and video blog, Dr. J and Dr. I present a passionate and entertaining look into the worlds of medicine and travel.
Dr. J and Dr. I developed a passion for travel and an appreciation for the ability of travel to entertain, educate and possibly even to heal, after they participated on season 22 of CBS’ “The Amazing Race”. It was as contestants on The Amazing Race that the world was first introduced to the loveable, intelligent, if not slightly dysfunctional twin Doctors, as they raced unsuccessfully around the world in an attempt to win $1,000,000. Not long after completing The Amazing Race, Dr. J and Dr. I started a medical blog that
they called appropriately enough “Twin Doctors TV”.
Twin Doctors TV features a combination of written and video blog content that covers contemporary topics in medicine; presenting these topics in a manner that is sometimes entertaining and always relatable. Following the launch of Twin Doctors TV, Dr. J and Dr. I were featured as medical guest experts on CBS’ “The Doctors” television program. While on The Doctors, Dr. J and Dr. I were asked to discuss the unusual case of a Missouri women who delivered her twin babies 39 days apart.
In 2015, not long after their appearance on The Doctors, “The Twins” were featured in a new ancestry.com ad campaign. The Ancestry ads featuring Dr. J and Dr. I can still be seen both nationally and internationally. Following their appearance in this ancestry.com ad campaign, Dr. J and Dr. I next
launched their newest project, “The Twin Doctors Travel Bag”. Much like Twin Doctors TV uses both the mediums of video and the written word to cover contemporary topics in the world of medicine, so too does The Twin Doctors Travel Bag use the mediums of video and the written word to document the
travels of Dr. J and Dr. I while also covering contemporary topics in the world of travel.
When it comes to matters of health, wellness and travel, Doctors Jamil and Idries Abdur-Rahman are entertaining and informative resources. These authentically relatable twin Doctors are just as comfortable in front of a camera as they are behind a pen; and they are eager to share their knowledge,
expertise and passion.
